Detailed Itinerary of the 10 Days Uganda Adventure Safari

Day 1: Drive from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

After an early breakfast, at around 8 am, the driver guide, will drive in at your hotel in Kampala to pick you up for the start of your trip. He will brief you about the 10 days Uganda safari before you hit the road.

Drive from Kampala in the morning with your guide to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest park and home to 451 bird species and 76 mammal species.

Stop at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary on your way to take pictures of the statues of rhinos mounted on the entrance to the sanctuary. There is an optional visiting the sanctuary to track the rhinos.

The next stop is in Masindi, for lunch and the next is at the top of the Murchison falls which is 2hrs drive from Masindi town.

There is nothing as thrilling as watching the river Nile make its way 8 meters’ crevice and dropping nearly 45 meters below as it continues with its course. Due to the great ground, here is actually shaking; this is very impressive as a rainbow is also found.

There after continue to your lodge and check in. depending on your lodge you can experience some game drive as you head to your lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park Game Drive and Nile Boat Cruise

Day 2 of the 10 days Uganda safari is the crucial day of the stay at the park. You will have a hasty breakfast and set out for game drive as early as possible. This will help you to have a glance on the most animals before the run away from the scotching sun. The tour guide will lead you to the finest place to easily see the animals.

Your eyes will be on the look for any sightings at this point. You will certainly enjoy Uganda’s true wilderness as you will be taking pictures of this unforgettable Uganda’s Safari.

The thrill will be seeing Lions, herds of elephants, Giraffes, Herds of Buffalos, antelopes especially the kobs and many more other and the waterbucks grazing in the savannah.

You will also be able to spot other animals like, warthogs, jackals and if lucky enough you can spot the Leopard as well and many more other animals. And if you’re a bird lover, you will have a chance to spot as many bird species as possible on this game drive

Head back to your lodge for lunch and some rest as you prepare for afternoon Nile Boat Cruise. On the boat you will have a 2-3 hrs. of an experience across the river Nile to the bottom of the waterfalls.

You will also have a chance to spot some animals like the crocodiles, elephants, large number of Hippos, buffalos, water bucks, and also birds such as storks, fish eagle among others.

While at the bottom of the falls, you will have a great time watching the magnificent waterfalls. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 3: Transfer from Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest

Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge and drive to Kibale Forest; you will take pleasures in the gorgeous scenery of this countryside which makes the journey more exciting.

Have our lunch stop en route at Fort portal town and continue as you will have a great time viewing the scenes of Rwenzori ranges. Check in at your lodge on arrival

You could go for a guided nature walk In Bigodi wetland which is home to various birds and primates species. Later you will have dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 4: Kibale forest Chimpanzee Trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

On this day, you will have to wake up extra early morning for breakfast. After hasty breakfast, you will head to the park, where you will be briefed and later start off with Chimpanzee trekking in the forest. Kibale forest is among the charming places well-known for different primates and several crater lakes within Uganda

In the morning you will see the chimps in their natural environment. These chimps are also exciting and this very close encounter will reward you with a memorable experience on your trip.

After lunch you will drive to the Mweya Peninsula in Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will arrive in the late afternoon. You will check in and have some time to rest as you wait for your dinner and rest.

Day 5: Game Drive and Boat Cruise at Kazinga Channel- Queen Elizabeth

After an early breakfast, there again you hit the road for another yet exciting game drive through the Kasenyi track and other tracks where you have a chance to observe different wildlife species like; lions, Elephants, antelopes, buffaloes, water bucks, giraffes and if lucky enough Leopards together with amazing beautiful bird species. Queen Elizabeth has a diversity of Uganda’s ecosystem such as the savannah, wetlands, lakes, forests, and over 600 bird species which live in the park

With this, its scenery is spectacular with crater lakes like Nyamunuka and various shrubs and forest. Later head back to the lodge for lunch and relax. In the afternoon go for a launch cruise on Kazinga Channel. This is one experience to reminiscence.

Take a pleasure in observing different water birds together with their echoing sweet sounds and animal such as hippos, African crocodiles, waterbucks, buffalos, elephants among others. After experiencing the true wilderness, drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 6: Forest Walk and Chimpanzee Tracking

After an early breakfast in the morning, you will head for a guided forest walk in Maramagambo forest with the hope to see diverse bird species, python and bat caves. You will also track chimpanzees in the Kyambura Gorge. Head back to the lodge have lunch as you prepare for an evening game drive through the Park

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and transfer to Bwindi via the Ishasha sector as you will have a chance to observe tree-climbing lions in the wild. Bwindi National Park is a home to over 346 bird species, 120 mammal species, 400 plant species, and 27 frog species among others.

It covers an area of 331 sq Km. have lunch en route and continue with your journey combined with amazing and spectacular views of banana, tea plantations and overall green vegetation not forgetting the terrain of the land in the rift valley. On reaching the park, check in at the lodge. Have dinner and overnight

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking and Community Walk

After a hasty cup of tea, head to the park head offices, with your guide, have a briefing about the dos and donts while in the Park with the Gorillas.

After head for gorilla through the mist rain forest, trekking can take the least 2hrs. or up to 6hrs. and this is based on the location of the gentle giants.

Only an hour is permitted to trekkers while with Gorillas up close. Make sure that you carry a picnic lunch, enough water, sturdy shoes, non-flash cameras, rain jackets, walking sticks for those who are not so fit

Later return to the lodge and relax. Depending on the time you took to trek the gorillas, you can decide to stretch a little within your accommodation vicinity.

In the evening, go for a community walk where you will visit the Batwa, which is an indigenous group of people that has lived in the forest for many, enjoy traditional dances from them. Head back to the lodge for your dinner and overnight

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. This is approximately 6 to 7 hours’ drive. You will go through the outstanding scenery in Kibale which is a combination of terraced hills, forests, banana plantations among many other sightings. Have lunch in Mbarara en route to Lake Mburo, which is a home to 332 bird species, sitting on an area of 371 sq Km.

As you drive through the park, you will have a chance to spot animals like, zebra, impalas, warthogs, topis, waterbucks, buffalos and red bucks among others. Upon arrival, you will have a boat cruise on the lake where eyes will be able to sight lots of wonders like birds, crocodiles, hippos, zebras among others. Later you will drive to check in at your lodge, have dinner and rest

Day 10: Return to Kampala

As you come to an end of this adventurous Safari, you will have a strong relaxed lunch and leave for an early game drive as you leave the park off back to Kampala. You will be able to sight numerous zebras, impalas, warthogs and antelopes and much more in their natural habitats.

You will exit the park and hit the road to Kampala, with a stop over for lunch in Masaka and another stopover at the equator to take photos hence arriving in Kampala in the late evening. If you have a flight on the same day, then you will be transferred to Entebbe for your flight back home
