Day 1: Departure for Kibale Forest National Park via Fort Portal Tourism City

Pick up early in the morning by your driver guide and you transfer to Kibale Forest National Park after a leisurely breakfast. Take 5-6 hours driving via Mubende to Fort Portal where you will have lunch break then connect to the lodge in Kibale Forest National Park.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest & nature walk in Bigodi Swamp

Go track chimpanzees after a hefty breakfast and briefing at Kanyanchu Tourist Centre, taking you from 2-4 hours. The actual chimp trek starts at 8:00am with park guide on lead and you will have a maximum of 1 hour enjoying a face to face encounter with chimpanzees. Thereafter, walk back or your driver guide will pick you up then transfer for lunch break in your lodge.

Later at 2:00pm, go enjoy a nature walk with community guide on lead as he or she ushers you into Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. Explore variety of primates, birds, flora which you didn’t sight while in Kibale Forest trekking chimpanzees.

Day 3: Leave Kibale for Queen Elizabeth National Park through Fort Portal

Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and later, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, 3 hours’ drive through Fort Portal Tourism City. Lunch will be offered at the lodge and later, you embark on an afternoon launch trip on Kazinga Channel. Get to see submerged hippos, basking crocodiles, diverse water birds and a lot more.

Get up early and have a leisurely breakfast. Later, head to Bwindi 3 hours but expect a quick game drive at Ishasha sector, south of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This lets you see the tree climbing lions and you will have lunch at Savanna Resort prior checking into the lodge in Bwindi.

After leisurely breakfast, head to Bwindi offices with some snacks and bottle of mineral water to be briefed on guidelines for gorilla trekking. At 8:00am, start a search for anyone of the 20 gorilla families assigned to you in your group of 8 visitors. This may last you 2-6 hours and it includes a maximum of 1 hour of photo taking and learning more about mountain gorillas.

Get back to have a relaxed afternoon then go interact with the Batwa pygmies in their communities. They will entertain you with their great dances and music performances as you also explore in-depth about their traditions, cultures.
